Statistics indicate that there is a large percentage of middle-aged adults
who have lost one or more permanent teeth. This may be due to injury,
gum disease or another condition. In some cases, a patient may experience total failure of natural teeth by their mid-seventies. Tooth replacement treatment performed today
can restore the smile and also reduce the likelihood of bone loss. After a thorough consultation and examination,
Dr. Fallah may recommend zirconia dental implants
as the most suitable form of tooth replacement.
Dental implant treatment has been in a state of continual development for more than fifty years. Because dental work is visible to the outside world, there is an even greater consideration that must be made than the ability
of a material to integrate itself into natural structure. Zirconia implants gives us the best of both worlds.
Findings show the positive aspects of this zirconia oxide ceramic. This material is more lifelike, being white in tone, and exhibits other favorable qualities such as hardness and strength necessary for chewing. Zirconia
also has a high threshold for stress, making it an excellent choice for long-term stability.
Dental implant treatment restores a high degree of your natural chewing function.
Why We Use Zirconia Implants
Transcript
Hi, my name is Dr. Fallah. I'm a holistic dentist in Carlsbad, California, and my associate, Dr. Juca, and I practice holistic—or biological—dentistry in Carlsbad. One of the things we do that's really special is replacing missing teeth with zirconia implants. Zirconia implants are very biocompatible and have a highly cosmetic appearance. The gum tissue really loves it, and the bone grows in a very biological way around the zirconia implant. Unlike titanium, which often integrates through inflammation, zirconia allows for true biological bone formation, which we love. The gum tissue responds positively, and it doesn't create any meridian interruptions, as there's no voltmeter reading on a zirconia implant. So, it looks great and is very biocompatible.
Zirconia Dental Implants and Their Benefits Explained
What are Zirconia implants? What is the difference and benefits of regular implants and Zirconia implants? Watch this video to learn more, as Dr. Al A. Fallah explains all about it.

Hi, my name is Dr. Falla, I'm a biological dentist in Carlsbad, California. I want to talk to you about zirconia implants. Zirconia implants are made of zirconia oxide. It's a crystalline structure and as such, has no electrical conduction and does not put any electrical load on the meridian system.
The biggest advantage of zirconia implants is that because the surface is so smooth and so clean, bacteria just cannot really stick to it effectively. The gum tissue looks very healthy. Another aspect of zirconia implants is that they look gorgeous. Your smile looks beautiful, you would rather have a white implant than a black implant. Zirconia is very biocompatible, and you don't get that black lining underneath the gum.
We are seeing tremendous results with these implants; they're strong, they're beautiful, and their design ensures a very retentive implant on placement and durability.

Implant dentistry plays a key role in recovering tooth function when the natural tooth has been compromised. Here Dr. Fallah explains the step-by-step process that is involved when dealing with Zirconium implants for infected teeth. He explains the use of sedation dentistry as well as other technical elements of the procedure that is done to enable a smooth process as well as to prevent any further damage to the presiding healthy teeth and bone structure.

In this video I want to talk about our protocol when we are placing a zirconium implant. So we place a zirconium implant, when we have a missing tooth or following an extraction of an infected tooth. So
these are 2 sort of different processes, when we are dealing with an infected tooth whether it is a root canal tooth that is infected or a tooth that is infected and has a root canal, and the patient wants to
remove it. We remove the tooth after of course we do it with IV sedation and hen reason we do it with iv sedation is we want to make sure you are comfortable. The 2nd reasons we like IV sedation is that we have
access to a vein and we do blood draw and with the blood draw we do 2 different protocols. One is called advanced platelets rich fibrin, which we create a fibrin membrane that has a lot of pure white blood cells,
growth factors and about 1 – 2% of stem cells, and we use that in areas that we need to cover the site of extraction, also we do what is called the injectable cure F which has the same fragments of your blood
but it is in a liquid form so say that we have done the extraction and the first thing we do after the extraction is done we use continuous ozone to kill all the microbes at the site of the extraction where
it would have an infection there and Ozone is very potent anti-microbial and the other tools we use we obviously curate it out. Scoop out any fragments of the infection, we use piezo which is an ultra-sonic
technology that loosens up all the dead tissue, and infact the born tissue and we use continuous irrigation with an isotonic saline typically use lactate granger for that and all of that helps to eliminate the
infection that has been present in the jaw bone which can have all kinds of health consequences cleaning up the infection is of utmost importance and beset we use all these different techniques and protocols
we want to make sure that there is no residual infection left, and then at that point if the patient chooses if they choose to do n implant then we can choose to do a zirconia implant our favorite zirconia implant
is Swiss dental solutions, called SDS for short and we – it has different sizes that we pre measure from the CT scan that we do prior to the surgery and we then prepare the area for the implant the Zirconia
implant the SDS – the Swiss dental solutions implant and once we cleaned up the entire area with the ozone with the pure F with the piezo, and all of that then we can based the appropriate science zirconia implant
and before we place it we use the injectable that has all the stem cells, and we place the appropriate size at the appropriate what we call Tork. We don’t want to make it too rhetorical because that puts a lot
of pressure on that. The bone – the healthy bone that is around the implant, we don’t want to make it too low because then it will not have a good anchorage so that optimal Tork is very important. So once the
implant is placed in that optimum Tork, in area where we have injectable PRF and some of the harvested bone from your own jaw bone and that way the healthy jaw bone structure won’t be mixed with the PRF and
replaced in that area. Once that is all done we place a membrane of what we call the APRF and cover all the surgical sides so nothing is open to the elements of microbes in the mouth and so on. The APRF is typrin
and has white blood cells and it is a perfect barrier to protect the surgical side for healing, and the fire in typically lasts, 4 to 7 days which is perfect for healing because the first few days are the most
critical time for healing and that APRF is protecting the surgical side for that critical time for that healing and sometimes especially in the front teeth area, if we have more than one implant, if you have
2 or more adjacent to each other we can actually put immediate provisional which is a huge advantage and that we don’t have to worry about not having teeth in that area, we can also do that for the back areas
as long as we have 2 or more Tork and good foundational bone and if for whatever reasons the foundational bone is weak we don’t want to note it up initially we just want to give it time to integrate and then
we can go ahead into the restorative phase.

Hi my name is Kelly, I have had a lot of dental work through the years and unfortunately I got work done that perhaps was not the best for my health, I started off with a dentist who wanted to put crowns
on al l my teeth that were cracked and every time I put a crown it ended up in a root canal so I have had, many root canals and crowns and have actually had to titanium implants and then before I started having
a lot of health problems, and trying to figure all that out many years of the holistic route and getting my health figured out and it finally came down to my teeth, and I was recommended to come to Dr. Fallah’s
office to get that evaluated and what a blessing that was. He took all the metal out of my mouth and we started removing the root canal teeth and he put the Zirconia implants in where I had teeth missing, and
it was amazing and it has been an amazing experience and they are all very professional and my teeth look great and I have teeth again and I am so happy with his work and that I have found them and that I now
have it in a second trust that is not going to sell me something that is going to eventually damage my health, and just to make a buck, so I am very happy with Dr. Fallah and I highly recommend him and his staff
and the work that they are doing and just being aware of their there is a lot of dentists who want to sell you something that really is not to your benefit, so thank you!
Dr. Fallah Explains the Placement of Zirconia Implants
Transcript
The most exciting thing we are doing these days is the placement of immediate implants made of zirconia oxide, which is metal-free, ceramic, very beautiful, very strong, and biocompatible. We can do it at the time of the extraction, when we are removing the infected tooth, which is may be a root canal tooth or whatever it is. We clean all the infection very meticulously with ozone and Piezon, and other tools and laser. And we use what is called the PRF - Platelet Rich Fibrin. It’s a super-charged healing process. It’s incredible. We love it, our patients love it, it cuts down the healing time, makes it a lot more comfortable, and we can also do it under IV sedation.
Zirconia Implants for Seamless Front Tooth Replacement
Transcript
Hi, my name is Dr. Fallah, and I'm a holistic dentist in Carlsbad, California. And I want to talk to you about the placement of a zirconia implant at the same time as we do an extraction of, let's say, a front tooth. You don't want to be without a front tooth. We take care of the tooth that has to go, and there's no other way. And we remove the infected tooth, clean up all the infection with ozone, and make sure every bit of the infection is removed with all the different tools that we have, including laser as well. And then we are able to place a zirconia implant. We use the biological system for bone graft PRF and close the area so there's no secondary infection. And most of the time, we're able to put a provisional so you won't even know that you're missing a tooth. Pretty awesome!
