My Journey to Holistic Dentistry

Sharing my purpose within dental practice
Transcript
I wanted to provide the best services that I possibly could for my patients. Naturally, that drove me down the path to study current literature, look into the best techniques I could possibly provide, and then carefully examine the impact of the materials we use in our patients' bodies. As providers, we have a responsibility to facilitate the best long-term healing outcomes for our patients, and I'm grateful that I found myself within this standard of care in dentistry.

Diet Tips to Prevent Cavities Naturally

Reducing the risk of cavities isn’t a simple answer
Transcript
Hi, I'm Dr. Sergio Juca. I'm a dentist based in San Diego, California. A question my patients commonly ask me is: "What are some dietary changes I can make to reduce my risk of getting cavities?" Reducing the intake of sugar is one thing to do. Reducing simple carbohydrates in the diet is another option, as well as watching the acidity of the foods you're eating. Cavities are essentially caused by acid burning away at our teeth, so we want to make sure we reduce the acidic environment that persists in the mouth. Another thing we can do is strengthen our teeth from the inside out. We can support the odontoblasts—cells inside the dentin that strengthen our teeth against cavities—by supplementing with iron, manganese, and copper. Looking into natural sources and incorporating them into your diet can be a great way to reduce your risk of cavities.

What our patients say about Biological/Holistic Dentistry

Ryan T.

Thank you Dr. Fallah for your service to our country and thanks to you and your incredible team of Dental Professionals for making the experience of not only the regular check-up, but also getting a crown (onlay & inlay) stress-free and of the highest quality.
Your offices are new and conveniently located, and your equipment is of the latest technology as well as environmentally friendly.
I plan on only flossing the teeth I want to keep in good shape, but should I have a cavity in the future, or need a more in-depth dental procedure, I look forward to coming back to your dental chairs knowing I’ll be in good hands.
